Every finding should be checkable.

Our briefings turn a small, defined body of public financial evidence into a reproducible research note. Read the observation dates and coverage before using a headline.

From source to briefing

  1. Choose a question and name the dataset, covered entities, reporting periods and omitted fields.
  2. Freeze the selected response and retain retrieval times, source links and integrity hashes. A hash checks bytes; it does not certify that the publisher is correct.
  3. Reconcile each headline figure with its original publisher. Record the document page or API field, units and exact arithmetic in the edition’s verification record. An unavailable comparison stays unavailable.
  4. Generate charts and tables from the same retained numerical extract. Keep real zeros distinct from missing values and percentages distinct from percentage-point changes.
  5. Publish a dated edition with source credit, downloads, limitations and contact information. The edition’s own verification record defines what passed; this is an internal reproducibility check, not an independent audit.
  6. Publish an explicit correction or new edition when needed. Retain the old edition and explain any changed conclusion.

Three different clocks

Observation or reporting date identifies the period measured. Retrieval time identifies when we obtained the source. Edition publication time identifies when this briefing was prepared for release. An archive timestamp cannot establish when a fact was originally available to investors.

Keep the questions separate

Seiche: dollar funding

Published system rates, balances and operations. Inputs can have different observation dates. The packet aligns SOFR and IORB to a common horizon; it does not measure a named bank’s own liquidity buffer.

LiquiLens: bank disclosures

Specified institutions and reporting periods. Filing comparisons describe the measures disclosed, including gaps. A quarterly filing is not an intraday withdrawal feed or a solvency verdict.

Undertow: market liquidity

Indicative market-depth and exit-cost research, subject to freshness and refusal gates. It does not supply executable quotes or institution credit ratings. No Undertow media edition is represented by the first two briefings.

Interpretation and limitations

These editions do not establish a validated composite stress index, complete institution coverage, causal explanation, prediction or complete historical publication vintages. Historical periods are labelled as such. We do not label ordinary moves as a crisis to generate attention.

Editorial desks retain independent judgment. Access, an enquiry, a listing, a pilot and a citation are separate events. No newsroom partnership or endorsement is implied by sending a briefing.
